WORK EXPERIENCE - Life Nightclub

Over the past few months, i’ve been on work experience at a nightclub on the seafront in Brighton,UK called ‘Life’. the kind of work i’ve been doing is mostly on the promotion side, however i have also been doing some DJ work within the company too, on various club nights in which the venue hosts. The promotion work was mainly flyering and online promotional work, but i felt that this has taught me new skills of how to promote myself with my own music music project with regards to getting people to events, having more listeners on my soundcloud and other mediums and more followers on twitter etc…

The main highlight of this point was that, the promotional manager of this venue was also the co-owner of a club night brand called ‘Supercharged’ which is a specific Bass music night held at the biggest venues in the City, which was very good for me as i actually got asked to play at a few of their nights, which was VERY beneficial and fun for me. 

I really enjoyed working at this nightclub as i got to meet A LOT of new people in which can help me progress with my DJ’ing career. On the job you also learn the best skill of all, in my eyes, which is networking. I believe Networking is the key to any aspiring Music, DJ or Producer and you never know who could help you further down the line of your career. This for me has been a key part in my work experience and I wish to continue relationships between me and the people i’ve met whilst on this ‘scene’.

From this work experience, I hope that i’ll gain more relationships from people within the Nightlife industry as well as the music industry, and I’m hoping that I will gain a lot more shows from the Supercharged branded nights, which will help me progress further into my DJ’ing career! BRING IT ON!

Had really good fun meeting all the team, and getting stuck into the night life!!! was so much fun, feeling it today though!

Also met some contacts from the supercharged night too! so will hopefully play some more shows!

he’s a drum and bass DJ from brighton and i suggested it to the boss and he liked him!

Learnt a lot last night!

Last night was my first day of work experience with life nightclub and red hand promotions!

Long hours i can tell you! didn’t get home until 3am! but it was worth it. Met some cool people. and met some not so cool people! but that doesn’t matter!

Also learnt how to do some online networking and how to promote an event properly alongside creating contacts within the music industry, kinda like do’s and don’t i guess of networking!
